Contests
We had nine lucky prize winners in our first-anniversary giveaway who won nine different prizes. Check out the contests page for all the juicy details on what you missed. Next issue We're running a slightly different format these days. Rather than publish a longer newsletter on a set weekly schedule, we're sending shorter newsletters on an irregular basis these days. Hope you enjoy! Subscriptions You too can receive these newsletters in your e-mail. All you need to do is enter your e-mail address in the form in the top, right-hand corner of any page on the site and click the "GO!" button. So sign up now, eh! Suggestions If you have a suggestion for an article, factoid, joke, statistic or anything else for the newsletter, please send it to our researcher. Any comments about this Web site can be directed to the webmaster. |
Webfeeds. It's tough to run a Web site and keep it fresh so that your visitors keep coming back. That's why it's great to be able to get someone to do the job for you... for free! Below are some "webfeeds" that you can slip into your site wherever you think they would look best. All you need to do is copy the code below the box or boxes that you would like to have on your site, and paste it into the HTML of each of your pages where you would like them to appear. After that, the content of the boxes is controlled by the FactsCanada.ca webmaster from our site -- you don't have to do a thing. Use as many as you like. Our only rules are that you cannot modify the boxes or the code in any way, or use them on any site where the content is illegal or that promotes illegal activity. We plan to add more (different content and different sizes) when we can. If you have any questions, problems, or suggestions we'd like to know. Please write to the webmaster. Thanks, and enjoy! Current issue synopsis. This feed changes weekly, and links your visitors to an interactive map of the latest Canadian location featured in our Sunday Newsletter. Although the thumbnail map of Canada doesn't change, the link and place name do. <script language="JavaScript" src="http://www.factscanada.ca/webfeeds/factscanada_cmotw.js"> </script> Profound quotes. These also change every day and feature more serious and sometimes almost profound quotes by Canadians or by others about Canada. <script language="JavaScript" src="http://www.factscanada.ca/webfeeds/factscanada_quotes_serious.js"> </script> National weather. This forecast is updated daily. Very handy for those on the prairies who want to laugh at those being drowned on the west coast, or those on the west coast to laugh at those on the prairies being buried in snow. Forecast provided by Environment Canada. <script language="JavaScript" src="http://www.factscanada.ca/webfeeds/factscanada_wx.js"> </script> |
